Purpose and Overview

Prevent and/or overcome issues of family & domestic violence for people affected by substance abuse and/or mental health.

The purpose of the Conflict Reduction Training is to:

• Learn to manage strong emotions like anger.
• Stop violence or the threat of violence.
• Develop and strengthen skills for self-control over thoughts and actions.
• Receive support and feedback from others.

What is included?

Clinician endorsement of successful completion for statutory bodies

This course is designed for participants impacted by violence. It is for individuals with substance use or mental disorders. This can be self-study, without the support of a clinician or a group.

The course provides individuals participating in the 12-week program with a summary of core concepts, worksheets for completing between-session challenges, and space to take notes for each of the sessions.

The concepts and skills presented in the treatment are best learned by practice and review and by completing the between-session challenges in this workbook.

Using this system as you participate in the 12-week program will help you develop the skills that are necessary to successfully manage strong emotions that can lead to domestic violence.
